Today was a triple whammy of joy. Early, we met all our market friends, and also Mihaela from Calatele: Kata, Sancraiu and Bozse from Bicalat made it too!

Then we met dear Bogdan, and Simona at the station. Simona and I chatted about Nepalese fairtrade cardigans and spinach; and before we knew it, Bogdan and Douglas had filled the (massive) acasa bike trailer and we were off. I felt decidedly girly on my pink Brompton carrying a few bunches of flowers! The cycle lane along Horea, even with car wheels encroaching onto it, is SUCH a luxury.

Then Gustare/Kostolo popped up with Repair Cafe at PMV (Piata Mihai Viteazul/Szechenyi – who spent time in Scotland with a scottish engineer discussing bridges! – ter) corner!! I have dreamed of HPM uniting with PMV and this was the first unexpected step. Even the McDonalds security guy was won over thanks to Szilard’s cheese; passers by enjoyed csipet csapat apple juice and a certain gentleman got very into dried zucchini! We enjoyed meeting them, and supporters and Repair cafe!

Always get everything out of plastic and the paper as soon as possible; even things in clean packaging like Pasta and bread. I’ve been asking how pasta was stored pre-plastic days and I was told that it was put into a clean fabric napsack and suspended. We recommend this!
